2026 BMW IX3 M60 will have great performance and long distance: report

BMW finally announced today that the new class SUV will be kept alive for a second generation. The electric crossover is completely different from the outgoing Clar-based model and marks the premiere of an M-performance version. Sources that are familiar with the matter have informed us that the hottest IX3 will be at the start of the M60 XDrive.

What to expect? A lot of strength and reach. With good authority, we have that the dual engine EV delivers over 600 hp. To be more precise, somewhere in the region from 620 to 630 hp. This means that BMW X5 m competitive performance brings to the smaller X3 segment. Compared to the gas model, the IX3 M60 XDrive will also have a significant thrust that is concerned with the X3 M50 at 381 hp. BMW has already excluded, another gas X3 M.

The battery size remains a mystery, but BMW has already announced that all NEE class EVS will have at least 600 kilometers (373 miles). We have learned that the M power model covers approximately 750 to 760 kilometers with a single load that is 466 to 472 miles. The numbers are applicable in the WLTP cycle. The story has taught us that the numbers of the EPA tend to be smaller. Nevertheless, the IX3 M60 will be one of the longest electrical SUVs ever.

We believe that fewer versions of the “Na5” will have an even longer range, in particular a lighter single-engine variant with rear-wheel drive. We would not go so far to say that fear is healed the range. Confirmed with ultra -fast shop, but owning an IX3 should be more pleasant compared to the first generation model. The 800-Volt architecture makes DC so powerful enough to add 300 kilometers (186 miles) in 10 minutes. Finding a charging station that supports the maximum loading force of the vehicle is a different story.

Although another Inline-Six X3 M does not take place, we have heard through the wine vine that BMW will start a high-fat M version of its electric cousin. The “ZA5” would have more power, probably to the disadvantage of the range. Can’t have everything. If there is a correct M version in the pipeline, it is not available at the start. The brand new IX3 premiere at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich in early September. However, production does not begin in Debrecen, Hungary by the end of this year, and sales begin in 2026. The hottest M taste is probably not due until 2027.

The IX3 and its M -derivatives are just a few of the over 40 new models that BMW will start by the end of 2027.
