Red Bull Racing held its 2023 Formula 1 season kick-off event on Friday in New York City, where it not only announced a new partnership with Ford, but also unveiled its RB19 racing car developed for the new season.
With new design rules introduced in 2022, most of the 2023 cars are expected to be evolutions of the previous season’s designs. That’s true of the RB19, which appears identical to its RB18 predecessor, although team boss Christian Horner said at Friday’s launch there have been subtle aerodynamic updates.
The livery also appears to be the same as last year, although there are new sponsor logos, one of which is e-commerce company Rokt, which signed as a sponsor earlier this year. Interestingly, Red Bull Racing is holding a competition to use a fan’s design as a livery at the 2023 Miami Grand Prix in May.
Red Bull didn’t release any specs, but the Power Units carry over from the previous season. That means the RB19 is powered by a hybrid setup that combines a turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 and two motor-generators, one integrated into the powertrain and one into the turbo.

The engine rules are largely on hold until the introduction of a new, more sustainable engine in 2026. Red Bull announced a new partnership with Ford on Friday, where the two will work together on the new powerplant for Red Bull and its feeder team, the AlphaTauri.
The current world champion Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will also drive for Red Bull in 2023. Verstappen is chasing his third title this season.

Backmarker Haas showed off the so-called livery for its 2023 car, the VF-23, on Tuesday. The team will be driven in 2023 by Kevin Magnussen and newcomer Nico Hülkenberg.
The first race on the 2023 F1 calendar is the Bahrain Grand Prix, scheduled for March 5th.
