In addition to its updated 2024 CLA-Class, Mercedes-Benz revealed updates to AMG’s spicy CLA 35 and CLA 45 S on Wednesday.
Like the regular CLA-Class, the updated CLA 35 and CLA 45 S only get minor improvements, although both offer more power.
In the case of the CLA 35, peak power from the car’s 2.0-litre turbo-4 remains capped at 302hp, but a mild hybrid system now provides a temporary boost of 13hp in high-load situations.
The CLA 45 S, also fitted with a 2.0-litre turbo-4, has 34 hp more for a new power output of 416 hp. The current CLA 45 S has offered this number since its market launch abroad. The CLA 45 S is now also available with a new AMG Aerodynamics package Plus including a fixed rear spoiler.

Both AMG variants are equipped with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The CLA 35 sprints from a standing start to 60 mph in an estimated 4.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 155 mph. The CLA 45 S delivers corresponding values of 4.0 seconds and 267 km/h.
Like the rest of the 2024 CLA-Class, the CLA 35 and CLA 45 S benefit from new designs for the interior of their lights, front and rear. The CLA 35 also has a revised grille, which AMG says helps with temperature management at the limit.
Other changes for both models include new wheel designs, new interior trim material and a standard AMG performance steering wheel with a twin-spoke design and integrated controls for the drive mode selector.
The 2024 CLA-Class range, including AMGs, will reach dealerships later this year. Pricing information will be announced shortly before launch.
