Volvo CEO points to the future without a car

  • According to CEO, Volvo can mean restricted resources that Volvo can skip its cars to redesign the cars
  • In order to increase sales, Volvo can introduce new variants of other body styles
  • Current V60 and V90 cars can live on with updates

There was a time when Volvo was widely recognized as a station car brand, especially in the second place of the last century, thanks to models such as the 240, 740 and 850 cars, which almost adopted the legendary status.

SUVs have crept into the wagon area in recent decades, with most of the main car sold today with a little more driving altitude. The move was market -oriented, and with buyers who avoid traditional cars in favor of SUVs, even Volvo is now considering one Future without car in his line -up.

The information was revealed by unveiled by Volvo CEO Jim RowanIn an interview after the unveiling of the ES90 Electric slanted rearback after March 5.

He said Volvo was limited by resources, so that the renewal of relatively low sales models such as the V60 and V90 cars was difficult to justify. He also said that the ES90 helps bridge the gap between traditional limousines and SUVs with its assembly rear design.

“We are a reasonably small company with limited resources,” he said. “We make very conscious decisions about where we want to play the game and where we are differentiated.”

Rowan said it would be cheaper for Volvo to expand its sales By introducing new versions of its existing models such as the Black Edition version of the XC60 or the new Cross Country version of the EX30.

“It is much, much cheaper and much cheaper for us to lead more volume through the same platform and the same form factor,” he said.

Volvo already has it began to set his cars In many markets. The standard V60 and V90 cars are no longer available in the USA, but Cross Country versions of both are still available. The car manufacturer has not specified how long both models will stay nearby, although they may be continued with updates for years, similar to the update of the XC90 and the XC60.
