Half a century later, Porsche celebrates the milestone with the 911 Turbo 50, a special edition that honors the legacy of one of the most revered badges in sports car history. It is also not just a numbered badge and a paint. Only 1,974 examples of the Turbo 50 are made, and at a glance they do not scream at its rarity. But take a closer look and the references to his ancestors seem to begin. But what really strikes is how accessible it remains. Start the start control and it is predictably brutal, but you should relax and the car shows its GT character. It is composed, refined and endlessly quickly – a car that shrinks the distance with an uncanny feeling of calm. On stricter streets, however, there is enough balance and adjustability to remind them that it is a 911 in the heart. It never quite fits the Pin Hharp precision of a GT3, but it doesn’t try. The genius of the turbos has always been in the width of the skills.
The Turbo 50 is a celebration with substance, a memory that evolution does not have to be compromise.
