The Corvette has long been a response to the European sports car. With the new e-ray, it now takes hybrid performance on and rivals such as the Porsche 911 GTS e-hybrid head-on. I drove the new electrified Vette in the German test 2025, in which its performance, user -friendliness and unique hybrid systems left a permanent impression. The e-ray now has traditional V8 theater with the latest electrification for the Coupé and £ 159.230 in Great Britain for the Coupé and £ 159.230.
The e-ray is the first corvette with all-wheel drive, but it still delivers power in a rather unconventional way. On the back there is a 6.2-liter V8, which produces 482 hp and is paired with an eight-speed dual clutch transmission. In the front, a permanently excited electric motor 161 PS adds, which increases the total system output to 646 hp and 637 Nm. The combined system starts the car in just 2.9 seconds from 0 to 60 miles per hour and makes it faster than the stronger C8 Z06. The top speed exceeds 180 km / h.
In order to supply the electric motor with electricity, there is a compact 1.9 kWh battery between the seats in order to obtain optimal weight distribution. It is not invitable-repeated energy through regenerative brakes. A number of drive modes, including tour, lane and my mode, control the hybrid provision. A “stealth mode” enables a quiet, only electrical operation of up to 44 km / h. During the cruise, the system can deactivate four cylinders of the V8 to save fuel.
Despite a dry weight of 1,712 kg-17 kg heavier than the standard car, the e-ray grabbed. Carbon ceramic brakes and magnetic driving control 4.0 will compensate for standard to compensate for the additional weight. The car is over 9 cm wider than the standard C8 and wears tailor-made 20-inch and 21-inch rear bikes.
The tire options include Michelin Pilot Sport and Pilot Sport 4S, whereby optional carbon fiber wheels cut the unsponent mass by 18.5 kg.
The visual options include a front bumper inspired by Z06 and extended rear arches. The carbon cladding is available inside and outside and buyers can choose from ten outer colors. This is not just a greener corvette – it is a courageous development of the brand’s DNA. After the availability in Great Britain has been confirmed, the e-ray demonstrates American hybrid muscles to a new audience without losing a traditional charm.
