2026 BMW 7 series for debut M competitive lights?

BMW never has the aces out of the sleeve to highlight its high-end cars even more. The M -Performance list has used up in recent years and extended over the entire portfolio. There is something for everyone from the M135 and X1 M35 to the M760E and X7 M60i. With quad exhaust systems and sporty side mirrors, these non-Ganz-M cars can easily deceive the inexperienced eye to think that they are full of fat M models.

In the not too distant future, BMW will adapt with model-specific headlights with M-performance cars. A new report from a reliable insider on the Bimmer Post Forums claim that the 7er facelift will be the way. The G70 LCI is expected to arrive in about a year. Production is reported in July 2026.

It is not difficult to guess which versions the new lights get: The M760E and i7 M70. We have heard nothing about a pure gas version with M performance branding, and frankly we would not take our hopes. Unfortunately, the M760i operated with V12 does not come back. However, Alpina revives the B7 under a different name with V8 power and a new chassis code: G72.

The idea of headlights exclusively for M Performance Cars is fascinating. But honestly, we are more curious whether the 7-series series will be retained your split headlight setup. The prototypes discovered so far did not seem to have it, but BMW also did a good job to hide the separate daily lights in early G70 tests.

We doubt how the lights differ in M Lite cars that BMW will change its shape or size. This requires changing the body panels around the headlight assembly, which would be too expensive for a facelifting with a medium cycle. The LED technology remains unchanged for the same reason. Instead, BMW will probably optimize the internal graphics and possibly add M -Colors or other visual information.

After the M760E and i7 M70, the next model is expected that M-performance-specific headlights will achieve the revised 5 Series. If the report is correct, the i5 M60 has the updated design when the G60 LCI production begins in mid-2027.
