Since its premiere last September at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich, the iX3 has been on a world tour. However, deliveries to customers will not begin until spring. In the meantime, the electric SUV still has more stations ahead of it. Its most recent regional debut took place in Slovenia, where BMW did its best by unveiling a high-end model.
Instead of sticking with the base configuration, BMW Slovenia decided to present the new iX3 with the optional M Sport package. The most noticeable upgrade, however, is the choice of wheels. Codenamed “1054 M” and featuring M branding, the 22-inch set is the largest available at launch. Like most other designs, it features a two-tone finish. A more elegant 22-inch single wheel is also available separately.
BMW seems to prefer Ocean Wave Blue as most local iX3 events have highlighted this color. If none of the original shades appeal to you, single shades will be available mid-year. The model we’re most excited about is Eucalyptus Green, which combined with a white interior should result in one of the most striking iX3 specs.

Like the rest of the world, Slovenia will receive the iX3 exclusively in 50 xDrive form. However, BMW has already announced that a cheaper version will be launched in Europe this year. The front engine is ditched in favor of a rear-wheel drive layout and a lower price. BMW will likely call it iX3 40 and may install a smaller battery than the dual-motor variant’s 108.7 kWh pack.
BMW charges 69,900 euros for the iX3 in Slovenia before adding options. However, the configuration shown here requires a surcharge of at least €10,000. By opting for the M Sport package, the starting price increases to 74,199 euros, while the rims cost a whopping 3,902 euros. The blue paint costs another 1,118 euros, which quickly makes the electric crossover significantly more expensive.
The iX3 is just the beginning of the restart of BMW’s New Class. The brand revitalizes the terminology not only for electric vehicles, but also for models with internal combustion engines. Case in point: the next-generation 3 Series and i3 sedans debuting this year will both be part of the NK lineup. The portfolio is expected to be expanded to more than 40 new or updated models by the end of 2027.
For buyers willing to give up some headroom and rear cargo capacity in favor of a coupe-like profile, the iX4 isn’t far behind. We’ve already tested it ahead of its debut in 2026. Earlier this week we learned that BMW stopped production of the internal combustion engine X4 in November. The electric iX4 will virtually take its place in the lineup when it launches this year.
