It was a month since Car Paparazzi saw the M5 facelift for the first time. It actually surprised us to see camouflaged “G90” prototypes in front of those of the normal “G60”. Finally, the deliveries of the flagship version began at the end of last year, while the regular 5 series came onto the market in October 2023. The luxury sedan still appears relatively early to go under the knife, but here it is.
An extensive facelift

This is not the usual life cycle impulse. Even if it is plastered in the whole body, it is obvious that we deal with a considerable LCI. The vision of new class wide kidneys hide Behind the samples. BMW flanked the newly designed radiator grille with brand new headlights, although we assume that this is a preliminary cluster. Nevertheless, the lights seem to merge with the radiator grille and correspond to the show car from 2023.

There is also a fresh light on the back. However, BMW also seems to use a temporary setup there. The new class vision had an extremely wide rear lights, but the excerpt in the camouflage on the trunk lid indicates that the clusters of the 5 Series -LCI will not go that far. Take a closer look and you will discover the taillights on the extremities of the break of the trunk for the license plate.
We can hide an exhaust under the rear bumper, so this is not an electrical i5. It is also not a M performance model because it would browse the top of the bumper. Relatively large front air inlets, red brake calipers and two-tone wheels believe that the test car has an M-sports package.
Idrive X and panoramic view

Since the prototype was trapped in motion, the man could not look inside with the camera. Nevertheless, you can take a look at the IDRIVE X from a few perspectives. There is a central touchscreen in front of the driver and no instrument cluster. A black gang on the bottom of the windshield indicates that the 5 Series LCI had the panoramic views. It is a column-to-pool projection that can recently be seen on the Vision NEE class X and is partially customizable.
According to rumors, the 5 series -facelift will also win a passenger screen. Fortunately, it will be optional, so that those who don’t want the additional display will have one to have one. Logic tells us that additional models get it, especially the larger ones with wider dashboards. This makes the upcoming 7 Series LCI a good candidate.
Sources near BMW claim that the production of the 5 Series facelift will begin in March 2027, which means that the LCI is still two years away. If it applies, the mid-cycle update is not premature.
