5 things we wish for the 2025 BMW X3

We really, really, like the 2025 BMW X3, from most perspectives. It is our first impression of how the fourth generation of BMW’s best -selling type sign will be shaped, and there is a lot to love. But there are a handful of things that we believe that they could have thought a little better. And it is a solid way that it was also about thoughts that had fellow enthusiasts. As small as they may be, there are several things that we want, BMW would have implemented a little better in the latest X3.

Design is only okay

We spent a week with the 2025 BMW X3 30 XDrive, but it was certainly not love at first glance. Over time, we have grown a little more neutral for the styling of the car, but that’s about what true love gets closest with the new design. Some of it also depends on the fact that the outgoing generation was So handsome; We had almost no complaints about the iterations of the G01 X3.

We wish the G45 X3 had exhaust tips for all models, not just on the X3 M50, and we are still not completely sold with the new headlight design. The Dune Gray Metallic color may have injured more than it helped. We believe that a more extroverted or at least more determined color selection has complemented the busy radiator grille design. Fortunately, they are not only limited to Dune Gray, so they are to choose a lot. No notes on the 20-inch style 906 wheels; They look good, especially for a non-M sports offer.

Type of silly climate controls as a whole

As with all new BMWs, the G45 X3 climate control has made a strictly shielding matter. Not ideal, but to complicate the matter, the layer controls have now been drawn to the door handles and are controlled via a “slider” without feedback. It is unnecessary, but there was nowhere else to fit it. In conjunction with the levers that are now commissioned with the ventilation position, you must end up in different places before you get the settings exactly where you want. Potentially a journalist problem – and admittedly we got used to it – but it feels far away how uncomplicated the air conditioning control in the last X3 has worked that we drove.

Tax deafness

While the 2025 BMW X3 offers an outstanding drive train, the steering is unfortunately still quite away from the street. Weight is good; And precision is not a problem. You just don’t understand what is going on under the tires. This is a complaint that is applicable to almost every new vehicle that you can buy today. Even in Sport+ Traction, which exacerbates handling, the feeling of road is at best average. A bit disappointing from the ultimate driving machine, but it is the same story with most car manufacturers today.

New drive modes are good – but we miss some buttons

The Haptic button “My Modi” replaces the old sports and comfort buttons that used to occupy the center console. And in and of itself it is not a bad concept or system. In fact, the additional configurability is very welcome – especially the above -mentioned setting of sports and traction control. However, it was much easier to just press a button to deactivate the traction control or bring the car into sports mode. There is no way to make it a one-pressure matter. You either play with the screen and a haptic button or only with the screen, but one way or something it is more work and less accessible when driving.

Haptic controls don’t feel good

You don’t have to search far to find criticism of the interior quality of BMW. Above all, they are inaccurate at best, but we have a rather significant complaint: the haptic buttons are only a downgrading of the previous generation X3. The haptic buttons of the 2025 BMW X3 are not satisfactory. Even worse, pressing a flex of the entire “Panel” button, which is not the quality that we expect from BMW. Although reactionability is not a real problem, fortunately we still cannot call these new buttons as a welcome change.

Ok, there may be a few more: the lack of the ambient light for the rear doors and the general feeling that most plastics in the car feel cheap. But we have the feeling that BMW has seen these symptoms and will adapt accordingly in the future.

The embroidery points that we have with the 2025 BMW X3 mainly circulate for design decisions. Which, as should be noted, are primarily extremely subjective. Overall, we think that the dynamics of the X3 the few defects that you might have may have more than compensate for, and we will treat everything in the full assessment.
