BMW 3 series 50 years of issue revealed with special functions

BMW is in a solemn atmosphere because the 3 Series celebrates their 50th anniversary. The first market that receives a special version of the sports limousine is China. The limited model of the 50-year edition mentioned and has two wheelbase options and the selection between a gas engine or an electric drive train. It may not look so different from the global G20, but there are some unique details.

You have never seen these 19-inch bikes on a BMW that were specially developed for the Special 3 Series. A closer look at the profile shows a subtle 50-year logo on the B-pillars. Inside, the front headrests have a shaped “3” logo to drive the point home. Sure, it’s not much, but a discrete way to spice up things.

In addition to the exclusive delicacies, this 50-year edition also organizes some features in China. The car celebrates its golden anniversary either in matt frozen pure gray or Thunder Night that are not yet offered in China.

The 3 Series bounces inside and has upholstery, which combines two materials, a premiere for the local market. It is the first 3 in the country with Alcantara, which is combined here with Sensatec (synthetic leather). Similarly, the car has never had a red 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel with Alcantara.

The 50 -year edition is more of a triple version than a single model. Customers can have it as 330i in standard and long-wheel configurations as well as in the i3 Edrive40L. The 330i 50 -year edition is limited to 1,000 units, while your extended counterpart, the 330LI 50 -year edition, is limited to 1,400 cars. The EV will be the rarest of the three, with production limited to just 100 units.

Both gas models share a 2.0-liter mill from Turbos with 245 hp and 400 Nm (295 LB-FT). With this four -cylinder performance, the output of 330i and 330 LI 50 years can rise in 6.3 seconds from 0 to 62 km/h (100 km/h). Both are rear wheel drive and have an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The purely electrical i3 Edrive40L is also based on the long-walled basis (G28) with rear wheel drive. It has a single engine that produces 340 hp and 430 Nm (317 LB-FT) and reaches the sprint in 5.6 seconds. The feeding of the rear electric motor is a 79.1 kWh battery with enough juice for 592 kilometers of range. However, the number is based on the excessively optimistic CLTC test cycle.

The i3 Edrive40l is a quick memory that the “i3” badge is still alive and well lively, but on a completely different model than the no longer existing Oddball fluid rearback that we all know. A worldwide i3 sedan will take place on the new class platform next year, which is connected by one of China exclusive strain derivative.
