BMW has reason to celebrate after reaching two large milestones. This 330E tour in Portimao Blue, which is on the way to a customer in Great Britain, marks the three billion electrified vehicle, which was compiled in Munich. The luxury brand is also pleased to be able to tell you that it has delivered 1.5 million vehicles without an internal combustion engine. This number also includes full electrical models that are sold under the Mini and Rolls-Royce brands.
The historical work in Munich will only pass to the production of electric vehicles by the end of 2027. As a result, the 3 Series with petrol engines are no longer built in its history for the first time. According to reports, BMW plans to create the upcoming “G50” and its high -performance “G84” M3 variant in Dingolfing, although this still has to be officially confirmed.

In the meantime, the current G20 sedan will continue to be produced in Munich by October 2026, while the final “G21” model can only be built in February 2027. It remains unclear whether there is a next generation of 3-generation touring in the pipeline. What is certain is that the full electrical i3, which is scheduled to debut next year, will be manufactured in Munich. Spy shots show that the upcoming gas -powered 3 series is similar, albeit with a shorter front end. An i3 tour also seems to be in development. The electric car seems to get into production rather than a new 3 -ice car car.
Before these new starts, the electrified vehicle sales of the BMW Group (PHEVS and EVS) rose by 28.5% in the first quarter of 2025 and a total of 157,495 units. Fully electrical models recorded 32.4% and achieved 109,513 units. When considering plug-in hybrids, electrified vehicles made up for 26.9% of all deliveries by March. Only EVS accounted for 18.7% of total deliveries in the first three months of the year. Nevertheless, the group aims to carry out more than 50% of deliveries by 2030. This will be difficult to achieve.
The electrical journey from BMW started 12 years ago with the original i3, which was produced in Leipzig. The i8 followed months later from the same website as the first plug-in hybrid of the brand.
