BMW delivers new cars to the Real Madrid women’s football team

Like clockwork, BMW is delivering another batch of new cars as part of its ongoing partnership with Real Madrid. After the men’s soccer and basketball teams received their vehicles earlier this month, it is now the women’s soccer team’s turn to receive their vehicles.

Attached is a table listing each player and their chosen car. You will notice that all models are purely electric. The men’s teams had some plug-in hybrids, but the Real Madrid women’s basketball team went entirely electric. The iX in xDrive60 specification proved to be the most popular choice, with seven players driving home in the large electric SUV.

The iX2 xDrive30 and the i5 M60 xDrive followed closely behind, with six players opting for the peppy crossover and the M Performance electric sedan, respectively. Next came the i4 M60 with three cars and the iX1 with two. As team leader, coach Pau Quesada chose the iX2 in the same xDrive30 configuration.

Although the new iX3 was also present at the handover, the first new-class SUV did not make it onto the list. That’s no surprise, as deliveries in Europe don’t begin until next spring. Meanwhile, series production of the “NA5” will start in Hungary this month. We imagine that the first units to leave the brand new factory in Debrecen will go to dealers for test drives.

We expect Real Madrid’s squad line-up to be filled with iX3s next year. The i3 sedan could also be on the list once production begins in July 2026, and possibly a facelifted i7 for the coaching staff when the updated 7 Series launches next year.
