As it turns out, the M2 Drift Competition celebrated by Red Bull Driftbrothers’ Elias Hountondji isn’t the only action-packed video BMW released this week. While the drift-happy coupe was filmed at the Munich factory in Germany, the super sedan went to the BMW Performance Center in Greer, South Carolina.

The G90 faced an unexpected opponent on two wheels. Professional BMX rider Billy Perry jumped over the M5 as it drifted between two ramps. Unlike the rear-wheel-drive M2, the four-door rocket is equipped with xDrive as standard. Still, you can kick the tail out of it by engaging 2WD mode after completely disabling the dynamic stability control system.

In the hands of an experienced driver, the seventh-generation Bavarian brawler can still gobble up tires and mimic a smoke machine, and an expensive one at that. You can’t get an M5 in the US for less than $125,175. Compared to the home market, where the flagship of the 5 series starts at 144,400 euros, that’s not bad either.

The ad not only shows him jumping over the M5, but also Billy Perry hovering over a facelifted M3 G80 wearing a special M-colored livery. The smaller sports sedan is part of the BMW Performance Center’s fleet, along with other vehicles used in courses designed to help participants become better drivers. The parking lot, which is full of cars, even appears briefly in the video.

While the new ad features an M5 sedan, Billy Perry actually prefers the more practical station wagon. In a video posted last month, he took delivery of a G99 finished in a striking combination of Individual Miami Blue and Kyalami Orange. We don’t know much about BMX bikes, but he definitely has great taste when it comes to cars. His M5 Touring looks almost perfect.
