BMW has built seven million cars in the USA

BMW has been selling cars in the United States since 1956, but local production only began in 1994. The world’s largest factory hit its first major milestone on February 28, 2006 when a Z4 M Roadster became a millisplifting vehicle that rolled the assembly line. The two millionth vehicle, an X3 XDRIVE35I, followed on January 12, 2012.

Just a few years later, the three millisplifting BMW, an X5 m, was completed on March 24, 2015. The fourth million milestone came quickly after an X30i XDrive was marked on September 8, 2017. BMW reached five million on June 4, 2020 with an X5 m competition, while the six million car on September 2 with an X6 million. on September 2 with an X6-m-22.

Entry to this selected group is now an XB7 that was technically complete at the end of March. The luxurious luxurious SUV made additional alpina-specific upgrades in the Spartanburg factory the following week, including a subtle body kit, 23-inch-class bicycles, special floor mats and a commemorative badge.

BMW commissioned this seventh million vehicle with Tartufo full merino leather and alpina-exclusive Walnut Nature Black Trim. The upscale SUV also has the Panoramic Sky Lounge LED roof and captain’s chair in the second row. Although a complete photo gallery has not yet been published, we know that the steering wheel wrapped in leather has blue and green seams.

But this 631 PS-Alpina Green XB7 is not for sale. Why? BMW considers it to be a historical collection. Of course, they could only order one that looks practically identical to the princely sum of over 161,000 US dollars.

Since the facility in 1992 in South Carolina, BMW has invested over 14.8 billion US dollars in the state. The company undertakes for another 1 billion US dollars to implement the factory in order to produce at least six electric vehicles by the end of the decade. In addition, 700 million US dollars are invested in a new battery assembly in the nearby Woodruff, South Carolina.

BMW has not yet confirmed which EVS are being built in Spartanburg. However, it is likely that the IX5, IX6 and IX7, all on the Clar platform, are part of the plan. The trio is based on the next generation X5 (G65), X6 (G66) and X7 (G67). The production of new class EVS is also expected in the facility.

BMW is currently producing the X3 to X7 models in South Carolina and the XM. The X4 will expire soon because the crossover coupe will be stopped in the coming months. In 2024, the factory produced almost 400,000 SUVs with a capacity of up to 450,000 units per year. More than half of the vehicles built in Spartanburg were exported last year, with almost 225,000 units being shipped to 120 countries worldwide. These were worth a combined 10.1 billion US dollar.
