Ferrari SF90 compared to 1,000 hp BMW M240i: Drag Race

Have you ever heard that someone describes his vehicle as “faster than a ferrari”? Annoyingly there never seems to be a Ferrari or a drag strip nearby. Not the case in one of the latest Carwow Draw racing videos. Today, the host mat is directed by a Ferrari SF90 against largely modified cars that collide over 1,000 hp. A G42 BMW M240i and equally ridiculous Golf race at a Ferrari SF90, and the results will probably not be surprisingly (and validated) for those who are familiar with the B58 engine.

The BMW M240i presented here is a chassis car from 2024 Model Year. It is based on the exceptionally durable B58 engine, which is also remarkably receptive to mods. This specific BMW M240i is reportedly about 811 pound-foot torque (1,114 Nm) and 1,048 hp. A little trench shows that the B58 was equipped with a precision 7480 Turbo and external wastegates from Turbosmart. We expect dozens of other supporting modifications.

The Golf R was also modified extensively. Under the bonnet there is a 2.5-liter engine from the Audi RS3. It is another engine that is known for healthy profits with only a few simple changes. But this driver clearly went the extra parts. In a funny coincidence, this is really a BMW against Audi battle – Oh yes, and there is also a Ferrari. The Bone-Stock SF90 uses all-wheel drive, electric motors and a twin turbo V8, which develops around 1,000 hp and 800 Nm (590 pound foot) torque. Due to the countless modifications, we are not 100% sure who is the hardest competitor here. However, we are sure that the Ferrari SF90 is still the most expensive and a wallet costs $ 593,950 begin accordingly Car and driver.

What happens?

The first pass sees that the M240i achieves a win, although the Ferrari is hardly in second place. The Golf R is hardly the dancing horse. In particular, the pilot of the B58 bombers claims that it “used a little too much thrust” from the line, and there is a little smoke. To be honest, it didn’t look like a bad start when he thought about, rear -wheel drive and over 1,000 hp. The second pass turns the script; The BMW is in the last, the VW takes gold. The Golf R started much harder the second time.

The third race sees the small white BMW comfortably in front of both. The best time that the BMW has put down was a missing quarter miles run of 9.1 seconds. The rolling races are equally pleasant because the BMW – which appears largely from the outside and does not even carry out a drag pack – simply goes away from the Ferrari. The obviously modified golf looks stupid in comparison. Even better? The BMW M240i manages to slow down faster from 160 km/h than the Ferrari. Look at it!
