Last October, the poor man’s BMW sedan switched to the second generation. The Bayern sedan in the Bayern entry level started a world tour immediately after the premiere of “F74”. The 2 Series Gran Coupé has battle in the upcoming Mercedes Cla of the third generation in France. The regional BMW branch organized a photo shoot for its local debut.

BMW France kept things relatively easy instead of concentrating on the M performance model. Although it is not a spicy M235, this 220 is not completely standard. It has the M sports package and an optional individual color – danceanite blue metallic. The new Gran Coupé with 2 series skipped the standard gears in favor of a larger 19-inch set. These 976 m alloys have the two-colored finish that we expect from BMW.

If you step in, a specially from the configurator can be recognized immediately. BMW France built this four-door 2er press car with the perforated Veganza (vegan leather) in oyster, marketing jargon for beige/cream. Beyond the seat padding and the center console, the door cards are also partially beige. The easier topic is a touch of fresh air compared to most official pictures that show the compact Gran coupé with mostly dark interiors.

Like the 1 -series shaker (“F70”), the sibling of the limousine has undergone massive changes inside. While the exterior can suggest a life cycle impulse, the cabin deviates significantly from the old “F44” generation. The IDRIVE controller has disappeared via the simplified dashboard with fewer buttons. For the first time, the 2-Serie-Gran Coupé also receives long-wheeling treatment for a stretched version that was sold in China as “F78”.

BMW will start customer deliveries of the new 2 GC in the next month. The smallest limousine of the line -up in Leipzig, Germany, skips serious electrification. Here, too, there are no plug-in hybrid or electroivates, but this 220 and the 220d diesel have a mild hybrid setup. The six-speed manual transmission has disappeared, with all versions with a seven-course automatic transmission with two couplings.
