Quad engine BMW-Nadine prototype, which is displayed at BMW World

Good news! The first BMW M. electric car is temporarily displayed in the BMW world in Munich. We saw the quad engine animal for the first time when tests started in 2022. Since then, the prototype based on i4 M50 has been presented in official videos. It is effectively a foretaste of what will come with regard to an electric M production model. There are many electric M-performance cars, but no full fat M.

The i4 M50 is a development of an M2 F87 Electric prototype, also known as “The Beast”. The newer test car also has a name, “Nadine” and the hardware from the production BMW M models. For example, the wider axles come from the M3 and M5, while the carbon ceramic brakes are also the M-locomotives. In addition, the battery cells in production i4 M50 are not the same.

As you can assess, the front end of the prototype differs somewhat from the i4 M50. It has the aggressive kidney grid of the M3/M4 models operated with gasoline. Based on the pre-LCI model, the test car is located on M power wheels and has an M-specific camo wrap. This colorful cladding of M issues was recently observed on prototypes of the electrical M3 (“ZA0”).

BMW calls it a unique prototype, and although the specifications have not been disclosed, we know that it is over 1,000 hp. The eyesight experience that followed the i4 M50 pressed the total output over 1,300 hp. However, do not expect the electric M3 nearby to have so many muscles. The first version that comes in 2027 is likely to have almost 700 hp. It would still be a significant upgrade compared to the current G80.

Although Nadine was constructed with a quad engine setup, the new class models from BMW are also sold with one, two or three engines. There will be no NK model with front-wheel drive, so don’t worry about an M model with an FWD layout. It won’t happen. The M3 Electric was able to start with a dual motor layout with rear wheel drive and later go up in the life cycle from there.

BMW M has an exciting future in front of it, especially since there will be another petrol M3The “G84”. The conventionally powered sports sedan will follow The electrical M3. Expect it in 2028, possibly with only two pedals and AWD.
