BMW is busy putting the finishing touches on the 7 Series LCI ahead of its launch next year. In the meantime, it’s showing some love to the pre-facelift model with a special edition duo. While this “G70” tandem doesn’t have an official name, it has clearly been treated to a bespoke custom exterior that combines two colors.
Both sedans were photographed at the five-star InterContinental Athénée Palace hotel in Bucharest and were built to M Performance specification. The M760e plug-in hybrids are painted in two colors and cost an impressive 22,000 euros. We were told that the high surcharge is divided into a premium of 12,000 euros for the more complex two-tone painting process and the remaining 10,000 euros for the individual colors themselves.
BMW presents one of the cars in Tanzanite Blue on the top and San Marino Blue Metallic on the bottom. The other 7 Series combines Space Silver with Barcelona Blue. Each configuration is limited to four units, with Romania getting the lion’s share: three copies each.

In the interior, buyers can choose between Merino Smoke White or Amaro Brown leather upholstery. To sweeten the deal, the 7 Series comes standard with automatic doors and a huge 31.3-inch screen that folds down from the ceiling. The oversized display is no longer exclusive to the G70, it has already leaked to the long wheelbase 5 Series. The power doors won’t remain a 7 Series-only feature for long either, as we hear they’ll arrive on the second-generation X7 in 2027.
You’re not limited to these colors if you want a 7 Series that stands out from the crowd. BMW offers 135 regular and custom paint finishes in four finishes: metallic, solid, matt (Frozen) and two-tone, as shown here. Depending on the configuration, the upper-class luxury sedan can cost up to 209,000 euros in Romania.
Although the 7 Series is the only BMW to offer a two-tone paint finish from the factory, it’s technically not the only model sold new with a two-tone look. Earlier this year, the X7 Nishiki Lounge for Japan introduced different shades for the upper and lower body areas. However, this treatment was not used at the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. Instead, the SUV was then repainted at a BMW factory in Japan.
