BMW invites the ultra-exclusive Skytop edition, and a fresh prototype has just been crossed by Munich. According to the recent sightings in the Alps, the test phase has shifted to a citt setting. While this skytop mule remains wrapped in the camouflage, the core design elements of the Concept Car clearly take shape.
A beautiful silhouette

At the front, the legendary shark-nose silhouette, which is reminiscent from the legendary 507 and Z8 roadsters, gives a bold appearance, paired with an illuminated kidney frame. The elegant LED headlights seem to be unchanged compared to the concept and maintain their futuristic look. Back back are the slim LED delights and razor-thin headlights of Adrian van Hooydonk as closest to a BMW production vehicle, still on the spot and look ready for production.
A look inside shows an interior that remains true to the show car. The red-brown cockpit is the rear seats in favor of a two-seat and sticks with the older Idrive 7 system. The G14 chassis corresponds to its heir and still supports many physical keys and makes it with the user interface of the previous generation.

The cabin radiates the opulence with leather padding in a brogue style in a deep red-brown color and wraps almost every visible surface. Crystal accents shimmer with dazzling tones, while the rest of the interior comes strongly from the 8 -series line. The BMW expert in Dingolfing ensured that a seamless river between indoor and outdoor materials, in particular striking whether the roof is withdrawn or on the spot.
Handmade in Dingolfing

Like the tailor -made BMW 3.0 CSL, the skytop does not roll down a typical assembly line. Instead, it is built by hand by a special production process, so that the extreme adaptation and craftsmanship are required. The project took 15 months from the concept to the form of production.
Under the bonnet, the skytop has BMWS, the previously strong V8 is 4.4-liter twin-turbo engine, which produces 617 hp. Technically speaking, this corresponds to the M8 competition and follows the M5 CS by 10 hp, but the performance remains blowing. The power supply is delivered by an eight-speed automatic that starts the car from 0 to 62 km/h (100 km/h) in just more than 3.3 seconds.
Production is limited to just 50 units, which makes the skytop one of the rarest BMWs ever produced. It is not surprising that each individual has already been spoken, despite the stunning price tag of € 500,000 (USD 540,000). The deliveries are planned before the end of 2025, which consolidates the status of the Skytop as one of the most exclusive and elegant BMWs in the modern era. [Photos: @bimmermood]
