Since BMW concluded a contract with Real Madrid, the players of the soccer team have largely been going on electric cars. While some have decided to pick up the keys to an XM, the vast majority prefer vehicles without combustion engines. With the arrival of the new IX3, it makes sense for the Spanish squad to get to know each other with Bayern’s latest EV.
Real Madrid player had an early chance to experience the IX3 50 XDrive, the only version that was available at the start. Technically speaking, it is a prototype because series production only begins at the end of this month. However, it is practically identical to the model that customers receive when deliveries begin in Europe in spring 2026. The US buyers have to wait until the middle of the year.
Since BMW is the official car supplier of Real Madrid, it is no surprise that the players are impressed by the IX3. Kylian Mbappé and the rest of the squad admired what they saw, including the striking digital white interior. Do not be surprised if most players end up in the electrical SUV sooner than later. With 10 billion euros that are invested in the new class program, BMW wants to clearly advertise the “Na5” as far as possible.

The partnership with one of the largest football clubs in the world offers BMW an excellent opportunity to present the IX3. BMW will start it first of over 40 models under the new class banner by the end of 2027. Of course, not all Real Madrid players are absolutely SUV fans, as some also drive the i5 or i7. For them, BMW has the i3 sedan next year.
From the first day we endeavored to see the i3 as the IX3, but it makes sense that BMW leads with the crossover. Limousins remain profitable, but SUVs dominate sales according to volume. The new Debrecen factory in Hungary can build up to 150,000 units annually, and the BMW hopes that demand will hold the work with full capacity.
BMW expects the IX3 to be successful enough to justify production in a second facility. From 2027, the San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico will also put together the EV. In the meantime, China will receive its own long -wheel version, which was designed and built locally and is to debut in 2026.
