The Old 2 Series Gran Coupé was by no means one of the most exciting BMWs in the line -up. The “F74” absorbs where the “F44” has stopped, since it will probably not inspire it either. However, this can be expected from a compact car that serves as a entry point to the huge portfolio of Bavaria. Its task is to generate volume and help BMW to maintain its status as the best -selling luxury car manufacturer.
Beauty is in the eye of the viewer, but we assume that the outer design has been significantly improved. New pictures show an attractive build in Fire Red with the M Sportpaket. It is not the power model for the area of M-performance model. Instead of the M235, which we usually saw in official pictures, it is less 220 with a three -cylinder engine. But this is also not the Gran Coupé of the Base 2 series. This role goes to the 216 with a discontinued iteration of the same “B38”. The 1.5-liter unit has 168 hp in the car presented here and only 121 hp in the basic version.
Although it begins as one of the cheapest F74 versions, this car, which was photographed by BMW, does not play options. It drives on 18-inch-branched bikes and has a contrasting black roof and optional adaptive LED headlights. Inside it gets several treats, such as the sports seats and an anthracitic headliner. The 2-Serie-Gran Coupé was configured with everything, from a heated steering wheel to a head-up display.
You would be surprised at how much money you could spend on options, even for the smallest limousine from BMW. However, there are certain functions that you will unfortunately not find in the configurator. The physical controls for the climate settings have disappeared, as well as the conventional IDR shoot. The 2 Series -Gran -Coupé echoes the 1 -series Blott siblings and accepts a simplified interior layout by highlighting the curved display.
The problem with cheaper luxury cars is that the more options you add, the more you enter the price area of the model from a segment above. In this case, this would have to be the 3 Series that will be 50 this year. If you look at it from a different perspective, you can look as good as this 220 if you get a 2 -series -gran coupé. Up to € 75,000 in Germany if you go crazy with the configurator.
Speaking of, configurators have been in operation for many weeks. However, the market launch of the car will only take place in March. BMW started producing the 2 Series Gran Coupé in Leipzig in Germany in November 2024.
