BMW did not waste time to load the German configurator shortly after the IX3 was unveiled. It gives us a clearer picture of what comes as standard equipment and what also costs. For example, electrically adjustable and heated front seats are included from the start, but the panoramic roof requires additional effort. The climate control with two zones and an electric tailgate are also standard, while metallic colors and 21 or 22-inch wheels are awarded a surcharge.
However, some functions are particularly lacking. Beated front seats are missing for the time being, although BMW tells us that they will come later. Heated rear seats are also planned, whereby the availability varies depending on the market. South Korea will be among the first regions that receive heating in the back seat as an option.
Even more extras are aligned with the M -Performance parts catalog. An initial batch was already presented on an IX3 at BMW Welt in Munich. As usual, these upgrades are not listed in the regular configurator, but your local dealer will have the details.
In addition to optional treats, the line -up itself is expanded. The Start-Spec 50 XDRIVE will be followed by two cheaper models in early 2027: the 40 XDRIVE and 40 SDRIVE. The latter from $ 55,000 is out of the front engine for a one-motor rear drive setup. So far, these have been the only confirmed additions, but more are expected. At the other end of the line-up there should be an M-performance version and possibly also a full m.
BMW also prepares a Chinese variant with an extended wheelbase. Internal “Na6” (in contrast to the global “Na5”) will contain some styling optimizations from the design works studio in Shanghai. The sale is scheduled to begin next summer, about the same time as at the start of the United States.
Deliveries in Europe begin in the spring of 2026. The buyers can pay additional functions such as a heated steering wheel, a Harman Kardon surround system with 13 speakers and air conditioning with three zones. BMW also calculates more for adaptive headlights and the illuminated kidney grid.
A similar mix of standard and optional equipment is expected for the i3 sedan, which is due to the second half of the next year.
