How often do a customer urgently visit your garage due to a broken tire or due to problems with bike directions? Every car shop owner knows that it does not neglect two important parts of the vehicle, i.e. tires and wheels. Unfortunately, most people don’t care about them.
The tires are robust for powerful trucks such as the Toyota Tundra and do not have to be replaced as often. But as a shopkeeper, you would know that ignoring these tires can cause major problems for too long.
Over time, tires are damaged internally and externally, so that the driver’s security is endangered. You must check the wheel alignment and the air pressure in tires for a smoother drive. Let us not forget that it helps to prevent larger disasters on the street.
Let us go a little more detail about the reasons for cycling and tire tests during the inspection.
Signs of wear in tires during vehicle inspection
Did you know that according to the global status report, a total of 646 people died on the street in 2023 due to tire problems?
Therefore, tires must have the right air pressure and the right balance. Especially when driving in a cold climate or in remote production.
Here you will find general treacherous signs that the car garage manager or the technician are looking for in tires in wear:
- In the event of problems with worn suspensions and wheel alignment, wear is more pronounced.
- Too much inflation (air pressure) in tires causes the middle section to connect the road more than necessary. Part of the tire creates more friction and therefore means that the edges of the tire use.
- Too little air pressure tears the outer edges of tires, which leads to misalignment when driving at high speed.
- Untrackable profile wear, also known as cupping, disturbs the balance of the wheel. Tires do not absorb the thrust on a bumpy or gravel road.
- Unusual vibration (somewhat pounding noise) indicates that the tire is out of balance due to a flat spot.
How car technicians take care of the tires and bikes during a car test
One of the most advanced ways to inspect a vehicle is to use inspection systems for digital vehicles. If you use such tools, it is ensured that tires and bikes are thoroughly inspected and leave little or no mistake for errors. Therefore, car garage owners check everything on their list that takes place in vehicle inspections:
By tire rotation
The tire rotation usually takes place from front to back or can also be from side to side. Middle and rear tires have different loads that affect their performance on the street. Brakes and steering have special effects on every tire set, which leads to wear patterns. The majority of the impact lies on the front tires. With the help of the vehicle inspection software, however, business can check the differences between the front and rear tires.
While the rotation varies between 5,000 and 7,000 miles, each tire is laid out in such a way that it turns in a certain direction. This is common in performance cars where tires turn from front to back. In addition, the front tire size differs from the rear tire size, which causes poor axle rotation.
Therefore, the reason why technicians are always interested in checking the tire rotation.
Through tire compensation
Does the car seem unsafe and slightly bumpy? Or that it doesn’t touch the road properly? This indicates uneven tire compensation. During the vehicle inspection, especially with high-performance cars, uneven wear and tire damage are often diagnosed.
This is done in cases where the vehicle owner remains with regular inspection. In order to avoid uneven wear, the technicians attach small weights to the wheels on one side of the car. This step is taken to limit the vibration at a curve (especially sharp curves).
If the tires are quite worn out, new tires are installed to ensure that these cars have no unnecessary vibrations.
By cycling
The wheel alignment of each vehicle is different. It is the position of the bikes recommended by the vehicle manufacturers at a reasonable angle. Manual checks are common. However, it also increases the likelihood of errors in reporting, which is why vehicle inspection instruments are the most reliable choice. If an orientation does not meet the range, it can be re -adjusted during the vehicle inspection.
Usually the wheel alignment is checked and set at the time of the new tire installation. Or even at the time when unusual properties are noticed over the steering. So if the car does not drive or pulls on both sides, its wheel alignment is balanced. But there can be different causes than the wheel alignment. Therefore, auto technicians check the tires and bikes thoroughly.
Diploma
It is necessary to avoid accidents. Let the wheels and tires check every month or every 12,000 miles for your safety and improve the performance of the vehicle.
