Charged EVs | BASF launches busbar holders with newly developed TPU overmolding

BASF has launched new busbar holders that includes a newly developed thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) overmolding.

Elastollan R 2600 FHF is a halogen-free and UL 94 V-0 compliant TPU. It has an optimized thermal linear enlargement coefficient which “reduces the danger of cracks occurring throughout temperature adjustments.”

BASF says Elastollan R 2600 FHF offersseveral benefits compared to polyphenylene sulfide—it may be processed at a decrease temperature, is much less dense, and could be simply coloured.

“Like a number of different Elastollan grades, the brand new Elastollan could be simulated by our Ultrasim device,” mentioned Phase Advertising Supervisor Dr. Thomas Bayerl. “We use this device to assist our clients within the design of parts. Consequently, manufacturing steps could be saved and the complete potential of the fabric could be utilized.”
