Haute couture, the offering of exclusive, bespoke garments from the world’s leading fashion brands, tends to be the domain of discerning shoppers with unlimited checkbooks.
Mercedes-Benz is now targeting the same buyers with a highly customized version of its Maybach S-Class, aptly named the S-Class Haute Voiture, voiture being the French word for “car” or “vehicle”.
Based on a concept shown in May, the S-Class Haute Voiture offers its interior a choice of colors, materials and prints popular in the world of high-end fashion. These elements are applied not only in the usual areas such as trimmings for the seats or the dashboard, but in small, unexpected details that characterize the entire cabin.

Even the infotainment system offers unique treatments for some of the graphics that appear on-screen, like sparkling glitter flashes and rose gold-accented elements. There are also avatars dressed in elaborate clothing, we are told.
The car is based on the Maybach S-Class S680, which means under the hood you’ll find a 6.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V12 pumping out 621 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque.
The Maybach S-Class Haute Voiture will go on sale in early 2023 and will be limited to just 150 units worldwide. An accompanying collection of travel items will also be available and will include select materials shared with the car’s cabin. U.S. pricing and availability were not announced.
