Audi has given a first insight into the next generation A6 Avant and confirms that the model will make its official debut on March 4.
The car manufacturer recently launched the Electric A6 e-tron model family and originally planned to rename the gas-powered A6 as an A7, which was aligned with one New name strategy Where the numbered models for electric vehicles and odd names for cars with internal distribution were reserved.
At the beginning of February, however, Audi announced that he was giving up this plan and returning to his former name Convention, in which drive strand descriptors such as e-tron for EVS and TFSI would distinguish models within the list.
Disguised prototypes The new A6 sedan and A6 Avant Wagon have been tested for over a year. The new A6 is expected to arrive in the USA in 2026, although it is unclear which body styles are offered by the state. As with the outgoing generation, the Avant variant can be limited to the A6 Allroad Softroader and the high-performance RS 6.
While Audi does not yet reveal any technical specifications, the new A6 is expected to be used PPC of the Volkswagen Group (Premium platform burn) architecture that is designed for premium vehicles with gas and plug-in hybrid drive lines. This platform made its debut in the new A5 and has a standard front-wheel drive and the available all-wheel drive.
