Gordon Murray works on the “Ultra -Lightweight”

The Gordon Murray Group (GMG) has announced its leadership of a new consortium that aims to develop an “ultra-bright” monocoque chassis Known as M-Lights. GMG anticipates that the First applications with low volume The M-Lights chassis could arrive at the end of 2027, then a production with a higher volume was produced.

This is not the first time that a British company pursues an advanced lightweight platform. In 2020, Lotus announced a similar project that focuses on a light EV platform. Gordon Murray himself has previously examined this path with his Istream chassis, which was developed in the past decade, even though it has never seen a widespread adoption.

The most recent announcement is made only one week after GMG Gordon Murray Special Vehicles founded, a new division that is dedicated to tailor-made cars and extreme low volume specials that have been built up unique vehicle platforms.
