Together with Great Britain and Australia, Japan was one of the markets that convinced BMW of doing an M3 tour for the right. As such, it is no surprise that the country of the rising sun receives the hotter competitive sport output. But the super car is only for some selected ones because the SWRSPEC variant is limited to just 30 units.
The M division has not announced how many high-performance G81S would like to build it overall. However, BMW usually produces competitive sports models for a year. It limited the M4 CS to 1,700 units and is expected to limit its more practical siblings with no more than 2,000 examples. In Japan, customers pay a high premium compared to the standard -M3 tours. While the basic model begins at 14,800,000 yen (USD 102,400), the CS version costs 20,980,000 yen ($ 145,100). Both prices exclude local consumption tax of 10%.

Order books are already open and are closed on July 13th. Those who sign in the dotted line have to wait until November to take over the delivery. BMW starts the M3 CS tour in Japan about six months after the car’s official debut. Better late than ever, I think. Although BMW has not mentioned the available outer surfaces, you can expect the same color palette: individual frozen, solid white, British racing green, Laguna Seca Blue and Sapphire Black.
Regardless of the selected color, the high -performance car has a black roof and a model -specific rear spoiler with red accents. Despite its price premium, the CS is not equipped with a carbon fiber roof, not even as an option. BMW told us that changing the assembly line for a low volume product would have been too tedious. Compared to a regular G81, competitive sport runs 15 kilograms (£ 33) thanks to the use of carbon fiber.
If you need something bigger, the M5 touring is also available in Japan and we would not rule out CS version. However, it is unlikely that a powerful special edition will arrive in front of the MID cycle facelift of the G99, which is expected in 2027.
