While BMW is preparing to give the 5 Series a facelift, Audi is ready to equip its brand new A6. The large luxury car from Ingolstadt is now presented as a car and is now back in the form of limousine. There is still a version with front -wheel drive, but only if you adhere to the cheaper configurations. More expensive cladding get quattro all -wheel drive as standard.
In the age of downsizing, it is refreshing to see that Audi still offers a V6 in the normal A6. The 3.0-liter six-cylinder makes 362 hp and 550 Nm (406 LB-FT). It is a sufficient blow for a sprint of 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Flach, an electronically limited 155 km/h (250 km/h) will hit. If this is not enough, the future S6 and RS6 will deliver more Oomp.
If you prefer to be satisfied with the four -cylinder models, there are two options. The entry level A6 has a 2.0-liter petrol unit that delivers 201 PS and 340 Nm (250 LB-FT). It is only an FWD setup and not exactly brisk, since the value of 0 to 100 km/h takes 8.2 seconds, with a top speed of 244 km/h (152 km/h).
The most efficient version is the 2.0-liter TDI diesel, which is available with or without quattro. It produces 201 PS and 400 Nm (295 LB-FT). In Guise on the front-wheel drive, the sprint is completed in 7.8 seconds, while the all-PAW model does the job in 6.9. The diesel and gas V6 benefit from 48-volt-tech to increase efficiency. An automatic transmission with two couplings is standard in the entire area.
Apart from the specifications, the new A6 is similar to the smaller A5, which is also brand new for 2025. While the A4-reinforcement A5 now comes as a lift back with a tailgate, the larger A6 is on the traditional limousine formula. As with a new generation, the A6 has grown: it now measures 4.99 meters long, 1.88 meters wide (without mirror) and drives on a wheelbase of 2927 mm.
Entry models drive on 18-inch wheels, while optional 19-, 20- and 21-inch alloys are also available. There is a sportier outer package and a palette of 11 body colors to choose from. Inside you will find fabric, art and real leather and a microfiber material called Dinamica made of 50% recycled polyester.
Similar to the A5, you can choose an additional 10.9-inch display for the passenger, which is placed in addition to the 14.5-inch touchscreen. The driver receives the virtual cockpit with 11.9-inch audi as standard. The more you spend, the more luxury you unlock, including a sound system of 20 speakers and a panoramic roof roof with adjustable transparency.
Since the A6 competes close to the top of the luxury segment, Audi offers high-end functions such as aerial suspension and all-wheel drive, the latter improving maneuverability and stability. Other optional delicacies are soft-class doors and the automatic air conditioning of four zones.
Audi already meets orders for the A6 sedan in Germany, where the prices begin at € 55,500 and the entry-level BMW 520i undercut by € 3,500. Early adopters will receive their cars this summer.
